6. Extended Reality (XR) TCCC AI Training: Enhancing Combat Readiness and Clinical Decision-Making

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To explain how Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training.
  2. To demonstrate the integration of XR and AI in simulating real-life combat scenarios
  3. To perform lifesaving interventions by using Extended Reality technologies
  4. Understand the principles of TCCC (Care Under Fire, Tactical Field Care, Tactical Evacuation) within simulated XR combat environments.
  5. Demonstrate rapid assessment and evidence-based interventions for life-threatening battlefield injuries (hemorrhage, airway compromise, tension pneumothorax, shock).
  6. Apply AI-powered decision support tools to enhance triage, treatment prioritization, and situational awareness.
  7. Integrate XR technology for high-fidelity, stress-inoculated training in tactical and austere environments.
  8. Evaluate performance metrics generated through XR + AI platforms (time to intervention, accuracy of procedures, decision-making under pressure).
  9. Collaborate in team-based XR scenarios that simulate real-world battlefield conditions, communication challenges, and evacuation coordination.

WORKSHOP OUTLINES:

1: Introduction & Orientation (30 min)

2: XR Familiarization & AI Tools (45 min)
