6. Extended Reality (XR) TCCC AI Training: Enhancing Combat Readiness and Clinical Decision-Making

OBJECTIVES:
- To explain how Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training.
- To demonstrate the integration of XR and AI in simulating real-life combat scenarios
- To perform lifesaving interventions by using Extended Reality technologies
- Understand the principles of TCCC (Care Under Fire, Tactical Field Care, Tactical Evacuation) within simulated XR combat environments.
- Demonstrate rapid assessment and evidence-based interventions for life-threatening battlefield injuries (hemorrhage, airway compromise, tension pneumothorax, shock).
- Apply AI-powered decision support tools to enhance triage, treatment prioritization, and situational awareness.
- Integrate XR technology for high-fidelity, stress-inoculated training in tactical and austere environments.
- Evaluate performance metrics generated through XR + AI platforms (time to intervention, accuracy of procedures, decision-making under pressure).
- Collaborate in team-based XR scenarios that simulate real-world battlefield conditions, communication challenges, and evacuation coordination.
